Rachel Feaver

I began my working life as a hospital doctor before specialising in General Practice. I worked in the NHS for over 15 years. I was always most interested in the psychological aspects of medicine and so I studied for my Masters in Psychodynamic Counselling at The University of Leicester.
After deciding to change careers and become a full-time counsellor and psychotherapist I worked as an adult therapist in an NHS Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Service as well as starting my own private practice. I continue to work with adults in my private practice.
I have worked with Looked- after children in residential care as well as children who are excluded from mainstream and attend SEMH schools. I currently work with students in primary and secondary educational settings, as well as seeing young people privately. Alongside a colleague we are able to offer therapy and support to children and their parents to create a containing environment for the difficulties they are experiencing.
My office is in The Sir John Moore Institute in Appleby Magna which is a quiet, peaceful location, ideal for therapeutic work.
I offer individual clients the opportunity to explore their problems and difficulties whilst helping them to think in depth about the origins of their problems. With this exploration and new found understanding change and personal growth takes place.
I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and practice according to their ethical guidelines. I undertake regular supervision of my work with a therapist colleague as per the BACP ethical guidelines for supervision. I have personal indemnity insurance and enhanced DBS clearance.
